Giving back

“The firm’s commitment to diversity & inclusion, as well as the firm’s innovative approach to service, is simply second to none”

– Zechariah Banks, 2020 Indianapolis Summer Associate

Success is seeing gain differently. It’s not about you and it’s not always about us either. Blurring the lines. Moving away from personal or business benefit. Helping the community, and adding a dimension to your career. Doing good feels good.

Dentons is privileged to be doing truly meaningful pro bono work. In 2021, our lawyers and professionals donated approximately 40,000 hours to pro bono projects. Now that’s a lot of time for a good cause.

Our regional offices have their own part to play too. From building a playhouse, participating in urban cleanup events, volunteering at Firm-founded Legacy Charter School, and feeding the hungry, our teams are giving back through our Dentons Delivers program, as lawyers and staff work together to help change the world for the better.

In addition to volunteer work, our Firm Giving program builds upon our deep legacy of community commitment. Complementing the personal generosity of our lawyers and staff to organizations meaningful to them and their families, we hope that by harnessing our collective power and resources, we will be better able to enhance our communities and the lives of our neighbors.

Dentons is one of the founding firms of the Law Firm Antiracism Alliance (LFAA), and has been involved in all levels of the organization. The firm also created the Cook County Domestic Violence Appellate project, and firm lawyers from several US offices have won appeals on behalf of domestic violence survivors. Dentons’ US lawyers are partnering with colleagues in the Middle East, UK, Europe, Canada, and Latin America to represent refugees fleeing horrible violence and chaos in the Middle East.
