Applying to the Toronto office

The Toronto office participates in the 1L Summer Student and Articling Recruitment processes. In accordance with the Law Society of Ontario’s Guidelines Governing the Recruitment of Articling and First-Year Summer Students, the deadlines for submitting an application are as follows:

  • 2023 Toronto First Year Summer Student Positions – Monday, January 23 2022 at 5:00 pm

If you are interested in applying for a student position, please submit your résumé, cover letter, copies of official transcripts* for all undergraduate and graduate studies, and list of upper-year (second and third year of law school) courses that you intend to take. We are also interested in receiving letters of reference, but they are not mandatory. Applications should be submitted via the ViPortal to Jen Quito, Director of Talent, Recruitment and Student Development.

If there is any further information we can provide, or questions you need answered, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.

*We recognize that, as a result of program timing and/or administrative delays resulting from the pandemic, it may not always be possible to obtain official transcripts. Our Toronto office will therefore accept unofficial transcripts as part of your application. Transcripts should be submitted through viLawPortal alongside your other materials. If relying on an unofficial transcript, please ensure your name and, ideally, your student number are visible. Successful candidates will be asked to provide official transcripts at the beginning of their summer or articling term.
